Chris Le Marchant
Partner, shareholder and founder
Chris is a director of LMRR and joined Guernsey Financial Services Commission in 1988. He worked in the Investment Business Division for 7 years and became deputy head before taking an 18-month secondment to Guernsey's largest third-party fund administrator. On his return to GFSC Chris joined the Banking Division and was also closely involved in establishing Guernsey's AML/CFT framework across all sectors. He was Deputy Director of GFSC Banking Division from 1998 to 2007 where, together with the Director, he was responsible for the overall supervision of up to 80 licensed banks. He left in 2007 to form Le Marchant Regulatory Risk which became LMRR Ltd.
From April 2007 Chris also worked for 18 months as a part-time Senior Advisor to the law firm AO Hall (now Walkers LLP). From 2014 to 2018 he was a non-executive director of Notenstein Finance (Guernsey) Limited, the Guernsey subsidiary of Notenstein La Roche Private Bank Ltd.
Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Economics and a Master of Arts degree in Economics, both from the University of Keele. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investments, a Certified Fraud Examiner, a Professional Member of the Institute of Risk, a Professional Member of the International Compliance Association and an Associate Member of the Institute of Directors. He is the co-author of "Finance Centres: British Isle Offshore Development since 1979" (Pinter Publishers, London, 1993).
