Stephen is a director of LMRR and qualified as a Solicitor in England in 1991 and practiced corporate and insolvency law and in-house with an insurance company. In 1999 he moved to Guernsey to join Guernsey Financial Services Commission’s newly-formed Fiduciary Services team. He was instrumental in establishing the framework for regulation of fiduciaries which came into effect in 2001.
Stephen was appointed as GFSC’s Director of Fiduciary and Intelligence Services in 2004, heading the regulation of Guernsey’s fiduciary sector and becoming involved in issues and enforcement cases relating to all areas of the finance sector. In 2010 he left GFSC to join Kleinwort Benson (now Kleinwort Hambros) as Head of Compliance and Risk - Guernsey. Following Kleinwort Benson’s acquisition of the Close Brothers Group’s offshore businesses in 2011, Stephen restructured the legacy compliance teams into one. He joined LMRR in February 2012.
Stephen has a Bachelor of Laws degree from Exeter University. He is a Member of the Institute of Directors, has the IOD Certificate in Company Direction and is a committee member of the Guernsey Association of Trustees and chairs its Technical Committee. He has served as a non-executive director of a Guernsey fund administration business.
